Set off to discover one of the largest natural parks in France. Its particular geology, made up of volcanoes, is a favourable terrain for the sustainment of fauna and flora.

Volcanic activity has shaped the region with unprecedented power. After more than 12 million years of volcanic eruptions, the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Nature Park has peaks and ranges that are ideal for invigorating hikes.

From the Dore mountains to the discovery of volcanic lakes, the volcanoes of the Auvergne may be dormant at the moment, but their strength remains intact.

• Le Puy de Dôme (1464 m), the famous volcano of the Puys chain.
• Le Puy de Pariou:  a lunar crater on earth!
• Le Cézallier: a plateau nicknamed 'Little Iceland'.
• Le volcan du Cantal et le puy Mary (1787 m): another great site in France.
• The Puys mountain chain (130 volcanoes spread over 30 km) and the Limagne fault, a UNESCO natural heritage site.
  

• The Chaudefour valley: a nature reserve, a beautiful area with a high point of 1,854 m at Puy Ferrand. With waterfalls and mineral spring water, this nature reserve is close to the landscapes of the Alps and gives the Massif du Sancy an exceptional diversity.
• The Salt Fountain Reserve: a glacial valley offering long, easy walks.
